Support a Worthy Cause

Founded in honour of Wyona Pedersen Hyde, the Hyde Foundation is a Niagara-based charitable organization dedicated to helping individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges, while also supporting issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, and access to education.

Created by Gary Hyde, the foundation is rooted in compassion, dignity, second chances, and the belief that meaningful change happens through community support and human connection. Inspired by Wyona’s caring spirit and commitment to helping others, the foundation continues her legacy of generosity and empathy. Wyona was a 23-year cancer survivor who was deeply committed to giving back and helping those in need throughout her life.

Through initiatives including recovery housing, employment support, mentorship, and community partnerships, the foundation works to help individuals regain independence and move forward with purpose.

Gary Hyde is also the owner of Hyde’s Distribution and the exclusive Canadian licensee for Zippo products, creating a meaningful connection between the Hyde Foundation and Zippo Canada.  

The foundation is proudly 100% volunteer-driven and 100% donor-funded, meaning every donation goes directly toward supporting people in need.
